lowkey disappointed. the scene we got was not very emotional at all. Heleana was more shocked than in despair and it lacked emotion and significance. boo hbo. hope they can do good on the next episode.

After watching the episode I immediately download the ebook and went to the page where blood and cheese event is written. In the book it was just too dark and rather then slowly slicing young Jhareyis throat Blood killed him in one shot

Yeah, I’m not going to lie, I was hoping it was going to be more loud and shocking, but it ended up being such a quiet event.

This was a scene fans were “dreading” watching? Be honest, it was also a scene many fans couldn’t wait to watch to see if they would keep it original to the book. I was disappointed. I wanted the show to go there. Make us hate blood and cheese. The intensity from the mother could have been more dramatized as well.

I will get hate for this but im glad they didnt show what actually happened in the books because stuff like SA is literally thrown into every story these days for dramatic effect just for shock value and its disgusting and im tired of seeing it. It takes me out of the experience of what the story is saying and i don't really care if its just a tv show or a movie its nasty

The F&B narrative is so powerful; I thought the HotD version here was so inferior to it. And that's without the gratuitous bonking that distracts from the story.

Aside from Maelor being absent, I feel like the show version is much more realistic considering the book version is SECOND HAND/THIRD HAND ACCOUNTS of what happened.

So alot of people dont seem to get they will never show you killing kids that way on tv never , a sword thruough the chest maybe not decapitation come on and honesrly i never knew how much people wanted to see this on screen like theres part they obviously wont show with that with the duaghter thank god , but people really just want 3 kids just so she can pick the youngest they say no and kill the oldest anyway ? I thought it was fine the way they portrayed it but why not be more book accurate? This is HBO. There's no reason they couldn't have gone darker.

I liked the adaptation. The only complaint I have is it dragged for too long. Watching Alicent with ser Criston was unnecessary. But the sound of the head being cut off, was freaking terrifying.

Putting it on screen would have been a horror show but I don't think they did the story line justice by giving it 10 minutes and not showing the horror of what Helaena went thru. They have shown a lot of bad stuff before and not worried what the viewers thought. I was disappointed in this episode. It wasn't even close to the feelings you had by reading the book.

I just wanna take a moment and appreciate Meleys' flying in. Beautiful full body shot of her. Does anyone know what Rhaenys said to Meleys when she got off her?

Tho the books were very horrific depicting the scene, I find the series adaptation equally so. It's not as per se as brutally showcased through terror and screams out loud, but the horror was there nonetheless . The sound of the knife chopping in the back, and Helenas traumatized face running off in silence.. Damn it shook through the bone. I knew it would happen, but still I'll take my time 'till I rewatch the scene again. They did the horror justice.

I watched the preview to nxt ep & it’s shows Rhaenyra yelling @ Damon for what he did & she tells him that he weakened her claim to the throne @ this point i wouldn’t think that was something she was still focused on

Sorry not sorry but if anyone wanted to see a very small child being decapitated I worry about you. Im a huge fan and have read all of the books but if they had have shown more they would have crossed a line even for GOT.

Brandon Sandersons three books at the end of the WoT were the best in the series

People are lazy. They want that instant gratification. They've lost the ability to have true imagination. Those scenes were done perfectly, & I appreciate how they did them in the show.

Although I thought the ending was good as a non book reader, it did feel like it could’ve been better. I was expecting more emotion I guess from Haelena. I also think the scene may have been overhyped due to the brutality of it thinking HBO would do it exactly like the book. I know I know GOT had some very brutal moments in itself.

tbh, scene was still pretty brutal. both scenes were different but had the same impact for me. the sounds had me.

I think it shouldve been more chaotic than it was. The scene served the story , but didnt capture the pure depravity of the situation.

Thank you for saying how the scene went in the book, but I'm glad they changed it for the show. This scene is the type that if I had kids , I would want to hug them after seeing that.

The only thing I didn’t like was Helena didn’t respond properly to her child being killed perhaps you can attribute that to shock but I would’ve screamed or something. It seemed just lazy.

Just finished my review! Definitely preferred the book version.

I didn’t expect for creators to hold back at this point, knowing what’s happened, I was ready for Red Wedding brutality and horrifying murder, but the actual scene left me unsatisfied, I don’t think Blood&Cheese scene becomes the talking point amongs fans as other iconic scenes on this universe, for it being this toned down. Even death of Lucerys was more shocking and brutal.

I think the show did a great job at making the scene terrifying but not graphic because of the children involved.

I wish they were a little more book accurate with b&c but I still enjoyed it. I will say I was expecting much worse so it was a bit of a let down but still good

They ruined the Blood and Cheese scene in my opinion. The line ‘your mama wants you dead’ is what made that part so chilling to begin with. Helayna wasn’t even crying and begging that much. It was like she didn’t really care. I know why they couldn’t do it and it’s because they didn’t include all the children they’re supposed to have at this point but it cheapened the scene.

Yes, it was a desaster! D&D have gradually written the series to the ground from season 5 onwards. But GRRM better shut up and not complain. He really had enough time to write that damn next book of ASOIAF and provide enough material to HBO. Even now he'd rather write content for some whole new series than work on The Winds of Winter. To me that shows that he himself has lost all interest in bringing the series to a worthy conclusion - so please don't blame others.
